The last time England’s darkest purveyors of misery graced home soil was at the tail end of 2012 – needless to say the British followers of the Church of Metal have been long overdue the lethal dose of pain only Yorkshire’s finest know how to inject. On the night of the 31st of the third month of 2016, those starved of the live spectacle that is a My Dying Bride show flocked to a most grandiose venue to quench on the utter torment once again. With their latest glorious opus Feel the Misery, Aaron Stainthorpe and co set out on their European conquest to deliver fatal blows to the hopes of those who kneel at their oncoming doomsday. The night begins slowly as 40 Watt Sun take to the stage with three of the most heart-wrenching pieces you will probably hear. Patrick Walker’s vocals are full of that raw sense of loss that we have come to love from him and the audience (what there was of it) cannot help but stand transfixed.
